An Observation

Have you ever noticed how difficult it is in these modern times to say anything or even write a few words? If you do not use very specific words, someone could take offense and try to cause you a lot of problems

We have noticed this change and we believe it started around the time Bill Clinton was in office. Situations were no longer governed by the intent of the spoken or written words but by how they were perceived.

This change altered the communication landscape substantially, making proper communication almost impossible because someone was going to misunderstand what was spoken or written and make false accusations about your intent.

The days of correcting one’s misunderstanding seem to be over. Clarification is a lost art and it seems too many people are embarrassed to say they misunderstood and placed the blame on the writer or the speaker.

40 years ago and longer, proper behavior was always taught that if you missed the meaning of the words, one had to take the time to clarify what was said before framing a response. Today, people take their misunderstandings or word manipulations as gospel and then try to harm the speaker or writer.

While some of the behavior is accidental, there are too many people who purposefully alter what someone has said and change it into something that is not even close to being true. Then they build up a case continuing their distortions just so they can attack another person for no reason other than they do not like them.

We stopped interacting with unbelievers in many cases simply for this reason. No matter what you say, they will find a way to twist it to fit what they want you to say. Then they close their minds to the reality and truth and then challenge the writer or speaker with accusatory questions demanding evidence to support the rebuttal.

All the while refusing to produce evidence for their false accusations or version of what was said. They will pick the most obscure definition or the definition of a term they want and apply it to the terms the writer or speaker used even though they know for a fact they are making an erroneous move.

People who do things like that are the problem in this world and one reason why the world is in such sad shape. They seek to destroy not be constructive. These people ruin everything they touch including communication.

There is no point in dealing directly with them as their minds are so polluted with their own deranged arrangement of what someone else has said or written that they cannot hear the truth. It is best for Christians to wait till God has prepared their hearts to receive the good news or the truth before interacting with this group of people.

We do not place a general blame for this problem on every unbeliever, right now it is not a very large group but it is getting larger as nothing is done to put them in their place. They are too lazy and hate-filled to bother to do communication correctly.

The problems they cause are on their shoulders as they harm too many innocent people in the world. In the old days, communication was much more enjoyable but today you have to watch every word you say or the trouble begins.
