The Mistakes That non-Christians Make

They make a lot of them especially when it comes to heaven and the Christian faith. They also make a lot of mistakes about Jesus and God. The examples we will use here come from this article-Why Would Anyone Want to Spend Eternity in Heaven?.

It is a good question to ask as some of the examples set by believers make one wish they did not have to spend eternity with them. There are many good reasons why someone would want to spend eternity in heaven.

#1. No one knows if it is real or where it is located. Even the Bible is sketchy about Heaven’s exact location.

This is why Christianity is called a faith. If we knew where heaven was, we would not need to have faith. We simply believe God and his word that heaven exists. As far as we can determine, heaven is outside this universe.

The universe is finite and has borders. God just made it so large that everyone had physical evidence of his existence and his glory. Christians do not need to know where heaven is because we believe God.

The mistake that unbelievers make is that they demand evidence. That demand is not the rule of this life. The rule is one has to have faith. Unbelievers like trying to change the rules but that means they are being arrogant and demanding that god bow the knee to them instead of the unbeliever bowing the knee to God.

#2. As of today, the Webb Telescope has not spotted “Heaven.” Yet, Evangelicals, much like Fox Mulder of X-Files, say “The truth [Heaven] is out there.” I am inclined to think that the belief in the existence of Heaven (and Hell) is a relic from our pre-scientific past. Until the Webb Telescope sees the “Welcome to Heaven” sign far, far away, I am inclined to believe that Heaven is a myth.

The unbeliever makes the mistake that if there is no evidence, then it does not exist. But that is just an attempt to avoid the truth and the rules. If one gets a letter from someone across the country, all they have is a letter.

They do not know if the person exists or not. More than one man has been fooled by a letter claiming the existence of a beautiful woman writing to them. All the lack of images from the Webb Telescope proves is that it is not powerful enough to see the edges of the universe.

Basing the existence of God and heaven on a telescope that has no hope of finding either or even the boundaries of the universe is foolish. Heaven is not a concept of a pre-scientific world as science has been with mankind since almost the beginning of time (after creation).

Nor is it a myth as Jesus said he would have told us if heaven did not exist.

#3.They will live good lives, fulfilling lives. Yet, when they get to Heaven, everything changes. Sure, there will be no sickness, pain, suffering, sadness,

It wouldn’t be paradise if the corruption of this world was a part of heaven.

#4. atheists, humanists, pagans, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Catholics, Buddhists, indigenous people, LGBTQ people, Democrats, liberals, socialists, or any of the other people they consigned to Hell in this life

This is a mistake as it leaves out a keyword. That keyword is ‘former’. There will be atheists, Muslims. LGBTQ community members, democrats, indigenous people, liberals, and so on in heaven.

Just add the word ‘former’ in front of each of those words and you get the correction of that mistake. Former atheists, former Muslims, former LGBTQ people, and on it goes. Unless they repent and become former whatever they were, they won’t go to heaven.

Unbelievers like to try to skate around the cross and make Jesus’ suffering worthless in their attempts to make heaven filled with unrepentant sinners. It is not heaven or paradise if murderers, Muslims, paganists, and so on get to go to heaven.

It would be just like earth if one did not have to repent of their sins to get to heaven. That situation would make heaven useless and not worth going to. No, heaven is filled with former sinners, and sin is kept out forever and that is paradise.

#4. Pedophile preachers will be there. My violent, abusive grandfather will be there. My uncle who raped my mother will be there

Only if they repented of their sins and were redeemed by Christ will they make it to heaven. many people on both sides of the fence do not want to see murderers and other criminals in heaven, but they will be there as they did what atheists and other unbelievers refuse to do- bow their knees to Jesus, repent of their sins, and believe in him as their savior.

John 3:16-17 covers this topic quite well. All people are allowed to become saved if they follow the rules. The word ‘whomsoever’ makes this possible. One just has to give up their sins and obey Jesus and his teachings.

Heaven is for everyone who does this.

#5. Think about all the vile, nasty, hateful Evangelicals you have met over the years or read about on the pages of this blog. They will all be in Heaven; you won’t.

Not necessarily. Evangelicals have to do the same act of repentance and while they do still sin, they still get access to God’s grace and be forgiven of their sins, just like unbelievers can do.

The rules are the same for everyone.

Life in heaven is worth it as it is better from the description God gave us in the Bible than anything this world or unbelievers can offer.
