When People Post

One of the drawbacks to the invention of the internet is that it opened up the world to the opinions and not-so-intelligent thoughts of the uneducated. The world is now inundated with subjective thoughts from people who think they are right in their own eyes.

If you think that phrase is familiar it is because it is found in the Bible. One verse warns those who think they are right in their own eyes:

Woe to those who are wise intheirowneyes And clever intheirown sight!  Is. 5:21.

This verse is found right after Is. 5:20 which states:

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who [a]substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who [b]substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

There are many such people posting all over the internet and most do not have the right education to say very good things. They just simply repeat mistakes made by others or simply regurgitate tired old arguments that have been refuted many times before.

One example is this question:

Is the USA, as it currently stands, truly a democracy? (MM)

This question has been asked a myriad of times over the past few years and every time it is asked, those that are educated and know the correct answer get frustrated at seeing it pop up over and over again.

The answer is that America is NOT a democracy.

America is a republic and not a pure democracy. The contemporary efforts to weaken our republican customs and institutions in the name of greater equality thus run against the efforts by America’s Founders to defend our country from the potential excesses of democratic majorities. (Source)

The Washington Post backs this up with the following words:

The United States is not a direct democracy, in the sense of a country in which laws (and other government decisions) are made predominantly by majority vote. Some lawmaking is done this way, on the state and local levels, but it’s only a tiny fraction of all lawmaking. But we are a representative democracy, which is a form of democracy. (Source)

People do get confused between the two forms of government. That is just one facet of the problem with the free access to the internet we enjoy. Other people write about their personal concepts like it is the gold standard and everyone else should capitulate to their way of doing things:

Everything … literally everything … in the United States is a business. Healthcare is a business. Prescription drugs are a business. Education is a business. These things are all venues of profit for the already-wealthy, carefully guarded by members of Congress who are beholden to those with the money. This, my friends, is capitalism run amok. Today’s Congress is afraid to take a single step forward for the people without consulting with the owners of the fossil fuel, pharmaceutical, technology industries and others. Environmental regulations? Not if they’re going to cut into the profits of corporate America! Affordable or universal healthcare? You’re kidding, right? Affordable insulin and other life-saving medications? Not a chance. Free college? Who do you think you are? (Source).

Basically, that author’s words demand that America and other democratic nations become socialist and make everything free for all people. This is done regardless of the many examples that show that socialism does not work.

Basically, her article is one big whine because things are not done her way. We see this a lot over the internet. Someone doesn’t like the way things are done, so they whine, cry, and try to hold their breath until they turn blue.

They think they have the answer and no one else does. Then they get angry when no one listens to them. They do not get the fact that their ideas are not new, have been tried before, and found that they do not work.

These types of people also do not understand how things work. For example the following quote:

Why do you think the federal minimum wage rate of $7.25 has not been increased since 2009?  (Ibid)

The minimum wage is not supposed to be a career wage. it is a starting point for employees who then learn how to make themselves valuable and move on to better-paying jobs. However, these types of people want to skip that process and be paid a living wage all the time without putting any effort into improving themselves and making them worthy of their employment.

In the previous quote, the author states she likes the idea of free college? But who is going to pay the salaries of the professors, the groundskeepers, the staff, and so oN? Where will that money come from? It is not the government’s responsibility to pay for their citizen’s education.

It is their responsibility to govern education to make sure it is done right and that the students are given the truth and taught in the best way possible. It is the responsibility of the student or their families to pay for their education.

That author’s whining about guns and healthcare is the same whine that has been going on for 100+ years. Those like her that whine about these issues do not have an open mind nor care about the rights of those who disagree with their point of view.

They think it is only their way that matters. Her solution to those alleged problems she complains about are just as weak:

Well, first and foremost we VOTE!  Research the candidates, their own wealth and who their donors are, then vote those who are beholden to the fossil fuel, agriculture, insurance, gun manufacturers and other industries OUT of office! (Ibid)

She does not seem to realize that there are as many people who disagree with her and will use their vote to oust those politicians, etc., who implement the concepts she agrees with. While voting is part of the solution, voting in those that have no education, no understanding or wisdom is just replacing one set of politicians with another set who think the same way.

Keep in mind that democrat politicians are not squeaky clean either. So her solution is not going to work. itis just going to implement what she wants to see done, which will harm those people who disagree with her viewpoint. In other words, she and others like her want to be the elite and have the power and control.

If we vote wisely in 2024, if we let our elected officials know loud and clear that we are sick of being trampled by the causes of the wealthy, then maybe we can make a difference (Ibid)

This is another reason people who post on the internet should get better educated. What is the definition of the term wisely as she sees it? Her definition is certainly different than God’s and those who disagree with her.

Her solution or solutions is not bringing in anyone different than who is already there. She doe snot seem to realize that many of the laws she does not like were also voted for by liberals, leftists, Democrats, and progressive politicians.

MM said in a post that “Not for the first time, Jill Dennison has written an excellent post,” No she has not as she is trampling on the rights of those who disagree with her and want to see the country go in a direction other than being destroyed.

Her focus is on superficial issues that will change with the wind when that time arrives. The only way to get get a government that is fair, equal,(not equity), just, honest, is to elect those men that are true Christians.

They understand that they need to govern in a way that pleases God and helps all the people in the nation. You are not going to get any solutions to the problems that plague all nations be electing more secular people.

They are deceived and cannot see the truth. It doesn’t matter which side of the political spectrum they are on. They are all the same– unbelievers who look to their own understanding, who are also lost and blind.

You cannot change the world by electing the same type of people over and over no matter which political party they belong to. If you leave God out, then do not be surprised when things do not change and only get worse.

The Bible tells us to get wisdom and this is why we started the post talking about the myriad of uneducated posters that permeate the internet. Most do not ask God for wisdom and their words are a mixture of all sorts of sinful influences that do not build a better world.

Getting educated in God’s way, adding his wisdom and understanding, help people see the true problem and provide better solutions to the problems that plague this world. Sadly, too many unbelievers think they are better than God and know more than him and they will close their minds to this advice and deny it vehemently.

That is because they are blind, deceived, and lost. They do not know which end is up because they listen to the enemy of God and not God or the Spirit of Truth. They prefer to destroy what we have instead of building it back up.

(What definitely undermines the article written by Jill Dennison is her support and praise of a vastly uneducated person called Greta Thunberg.)

We are not advocating that the internet is to be used only by an elite group of educated people. We would rather see all users get an education first before spouting their subjective opinion. We would hope that they would go for the truth instead of trying to force their personal preferences on everyone else.
