We Are Still Standing By Ravi Zacharias

We get a lot of referrals from the Defending Ravi website, for which we are very grateful. We think his son has done a great job in presenting truthful counter-evidence against the onslaught of accusations made against Mr. Zacharias.

We have thought through his presentations many times and do not have any indication from God that he is in error. Nor have we felt an indication that our many posts on this topic have been in error. (see our post Our Ravi Zacharias Articles).

The purpose of this post is to help those who are hurting because of the way this whole situation has been handled. The best words we can say is not to lose sight of Jesus and he is handling it.

We do not believe Mr. Zacharias is guilty of these charges and even though he had flaws, he was still used by God in a mighty way. Evil simply found a way to destroy his ministry and hide the words of truth that God had given him.

The key is not to listen to unbelieving people. They do not have the truth in this world. Only God has that. The unbelieving lawyers and accusers are blind, lost, and in need of a savior. They have nothing to offer the Christian world.

The biggest question to be answered is how would unbelievers know more than the Christian denomination that licensed Mr. Zacharias for 40 years?  When the C&MA conducted their own investigations into the allegations, their conclusion in both incidents were as follows:

“Recently Mr. Zacharias has been accused of exaggerating his academic credentials. Mr. Zacharias and his employer, Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, have revised and clarified their communications to address these concerns. The C&MA has determined that there is no basis for formal discipline regarding this matter.

“Mr. Zacharias has also been accused of engaging in an immoral relationship with a woman through the use of electronic communications. The C&MA recently completed a thorough inquiry of these accusations, including interviews with those involved and a review of all available documentation and records. While it is not appropriate to publicly discuss the nuances of these allegations, the available evidence does not provide a basis for formal discipline under the C&MA policy.” (source)

Why they ended up believing the unchurched world OVER their own Christian investigators is a mystery. But somewhere between those investigations and their stripping of Mr. Zacharias’ license, they had a change of heart.

How could a man who was accountable to two different governance boards — RZIM and the Christian Missionary Alliance (from whom Ravi Zacharias received his ordination until it was posthumously revoked) — manage to commit all of this evil without someone noticing?

We have looked at all the evidence, even before Defending Ravi began posting their facts. We came to a different conclusion than the Alliance and the majority of the world. Mr. Zacharias was innocent.

The Final Report was done by a law frim described as very woke:

Miller & Martin  are a super-woke business law firm specialising in litigation.(source)

Being ‘woke’ is not the same as having the truth, knowing the truth, or being biblical. It has no place in Christian investigations. Instead, being ‘woke’ hides the truth and seeks to appease instead of providing true justice.

As for religious leaders who have condemned Mr. Zacharias, including people from his own organization, We do not find them being very Christian in this situation. We decided not to name any names because that would not help anyone.

There have been many of them in the news and everyone should already know who they are. What we find saddening is that they too took the word of unbelievers over a man of God and the Bible.

We also find something else saddening. it is the blinders these Christian leaders have put on in order to make themselves appear better than Mr. Zacharias. They made no real attempt to look for the truth, analyze the evidence, or anything else that would be beneficial to Mr. Zacharias.

He was condemned outright without even a hint of the mercy that Jesus showed the woman caught in adultery or the man on the cross beside him.We do not think how they reacted was right. While we do not throw these religious under the bnus or give them the same treatment they gave Mr. Zacharias, we also do not listen to their harsh and hatefilled words.

To those who are hurting we say, trust in Jesus. He knows the truth and will help you thorugh this hard time. It won’t be the last and it certainly wasn’t the first. Christians will be falsely accused even by other Christians and you need to ask God to help you prepare for those times.

One day it may happen to you. it is best to learn how to handle it before it happens so you do not lose your faith or sin as you go through the process.
