Here are different stories with a short commentary underneath each one

#1. Harvey Weinstein rape conviction overturned by NY appeals court

A New York appeals court overturned Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction Thursday, ordering a new trial in a stunning reversal of a landmark #MeToo case.

In a 4-3 decision, the appeals court found that Weinstein’s trial judge allowed prosecutors to call women who said Weinstein had assaulted them to testify, even though their accusations did not specifically relate to the entertainment mogul’s charges.

Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison after being convicted in February 2020 of forcing oral sex on TV and film production assistant Mimi Haley in 2006 and third-degree rape of hairstylist Jessica Mann in 2013.

True justice does not weaponize the court system nor use the court of public opinion to influence the jury’s and judge’s decisions. We cannot speak to his actions behind closed doors but we do know that proper evidence was not presented which perverts justice.

For Christians, it does not matter how one views the actions of those arrested, those must be put aside to reach a just verdict. That means that victims do not always get what they want. Ashley Judd called this ‘institutional betrayal’ but to the person on trial, institutional betrayal takes place every time true justice is not found

#2. SCOTUS sees ‘dangerous precedent’ in Trump immunity case if presidents can prosecute rivals: experts

After a marathon debate over whether former President Trump should be granted presidential immunity for crimes alleged by Special Counsel Jack Smith, legal experts tell Fox News Digital that most of the Supreme Court justices appear concerned with how the ruling will impact the future functioning of the executive branch.

In nearly three hours of debate on Thursday, the high court wrestled with this question: “Whether and if so to what extent does a former president enjoy presidential immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct alleged to involve official acts during his tenure in office?”

Legal experts told Fox News Digital that while it appeared the majority wasn’t sold on the idea of absolute immunity, they could determine that Trump, and any future former presidents, should be granted a qualified version of it.

“I think the court recognizes that it would be a dangerous precedent if future presidents can prosecute their political rivals,” Mark Brnovich, former attorney general of Arizona, told Fox News Digital.

Kangaroo courts and vigilante justice are alive and well in the 21st century. We have seen it over and over when it comes to Mr. Trump and it should not be allowed or tolerated. This is election interference at its finest and it needs to be stopped.

These trials also pervert justice and if Mr. Trump and Mr. Weinstein do not receive justice, then no one as justice. It can be perverted for everyone and that is not the example or precedent that should be set.

Christians should be opposed to all the trials involving Mr. Trump as the democrats are interfering with their right to freely vote for the candidate of their choice. Democrats have failed the nation and as leaders.

#3. Antisemitism on campus surges as agitators take over

Students at Columbia University have been alerted that all in-person classes will be held virtually through the end of the semester as anti-Israel protesters have taken over the campus. Columbia President Minouche Shafik set a deadline of midnight Tuesday to reach an agreement in negotiations with anti-Israel protesters.

This is not free speech but bullying, terrorism, injustice, and many other non-republic/democratic practices. When you ignore the initial crime of attacking those who are defending and trying to free their people unjustly held and being tortured, there is no justification for defending these protests.

Threatening and harming innocent people are wrong as well and there is nothing good in these protests. No Christian can support these behaviors as they are not just but just an extension of the injustice wielded against the Israeli people around the world.

#4. Ohio lawmakers co-sponsor resolution to put Pete Rose in Hall of Fame

Two Ohio lawmakers are now in a legal fight to get Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame.

MLB’s all-time hit king has been banned from the league for gambling on baseball during his playing and managerial days, a ban the Hall of Fame has honored.

However, as he is now 83 years old, the popular belief is that the Hall of Fame will lift the ban after he dies, and the lawmakers want Rose to live to see his own potential plaque in Cooperstown.

Another case of injustice where people’s personal opinions perverted justice. Pete Rose’s penalties did not fit the crime. Mr. Rose should have been reinstated years ago and allowed to enter the Hall of Fame.

He has paid far more for his gambling problem than the ‘crime’ was worth. This is a situation that needs to be rectified before he dies. We do unto others as we would like to be treated and providing justice to those we do not like is part of obeying that verse.

#5. Scott Peterson prosecutor asks judge to slam door on key to killer’s latest appeal

Prosecutors have asked a California court to block new DNA testing of disputed evidence in the 2002 murder of pregnant Modesto woman Laci Peterson and her unborn son Conner – potentially setting up a road block at the heart of her husband and convicted killer Scott Peterson’s latest appeal.

The Los Angeles Innocence Project picked up Peterson’s case in January.

Lawyers have been arguing that a mattress found in a burned out car near where he lived with Lacey Peterson back in 2002 could show someone else was responsible for the murders of the 27-year-old and the couple’s unborn son Conner.

Using pre-determined ideas and conclusions is not employing justice. Nor is using assumptions to declare someone guilty without real evidence to support the charge. Circumstantial evidence is too broad to use as a determining factor for guilt in almost any case.

Plus, the bias of an earlier guilty verdict should not interfere with exploring all the facts and evidence associated with a case. As the Innocent Project and similar organizations have proven, many people declared guilty are not always guilty.

On a couple side notes, MM is wrong as parents do know what is best for their children. Plus, a parent’s desire for solid and healthy education should not be overlooked. Politicians only try to get re-elected and rarely do what is right.

But nothing stops parents from providing the needed education public schools omit. The government should be restricted to governing, not operating schools, departments of education, or similar entities.

They should be setting up clear and honest guidelines for schools to follow, coupled with just penalties when those guidelines are violated. The government should not be trampling the rights of the majority in favor of a minute minority that wants to live on the wrong side of life.

If a person chooses to step on the wrong side they should not be rewarded but punished with true just sentences and verdicts. This means that transgenders do not get to invade women’s sports or other for-women spaces, nor should Homosexuals be allowed to marry or adopt kids.

They have chosen the wrong path and they need to be reprimanded for their erroneous decisions not heaped with awards that belong to those who do life right.

On the second side note, BG responded as we thought he would. He has proven he is a narcissist as he has nothing to offer anyone but his ‘woe is me’ tale that wore out its welcome over 10 years ago.

That ‘victimhood’ status is a result of his bad decision to leave the Christian faith and crucify Christ all over again. he is responsible for his poor decision and he should not broadcast it like he did something brave and courageous. He did not.

He betrayed Christ and Christians by his decision and he should not be lauded but rebuked for this decision. His expectation that Christians are going to accept him and his betrayal is unrealistic and he should have known better as he probably did the same thing to those who rejected the Christian faith while he was a pastor.

His story is not unique and it has been replayed over and over for two thousand+ years. He has offered nothing new to the discussion about God and has no physical evidence to support his views.

But that is the common thread with all atheists. They have nothing new or good to offer anyone and their arguments are unsupported rhetoric based on hatred of Jesus and all things Biblical.

If BG loved Jesus, he would not have given up his faith but set an example for others to follow. Instead, he leaves a path of quitting behind him which is never good, and an example of what not to do.

Christians, even when you have doubt, do not give up and hang in there. God will come through. When you quit, you lose and you lose that opportunity for God to come through for you.

It is not God quitting on you, but you quitting on God so you cannot blame him for your decision. Don’t stop living for God when things get rough Jesus never promised that the Christian life would be easy.
