Misc. Topics 2

Just a few different topics with some minor comments made underneath

#1. Who Knows Best? The Push to Replace Parents

“Educators love their students and know better than anyone what they need to learn and thrive.”

This is a crock and we are being very blunt in our assessment of that quote. As an educator, we lived our students but at no time did our love for our students interfere with their parent’s authority.

If these secular teachers love or loved their students, they would not be helping them disobey their parents, hide things from them, and so on. Love builds relationships not interferes with them.

Instead of being worried about a war on Christmas, Christians should be aware of and prepared to fight the war on parents. Most educators do not know better but they think they do and that is arrogance and butting in where they do not belong.

#2. Florida ‘pastor’ and son arrested in alleged $8M Covid scam

Federal agents in Florida had been seeking to question Evan Edwards, a pastor, and his family for days when their Mercedes SUV was spotted speeding on I-75 north of Gainesville.

The Edwardses were Christian missionaries from Canada who lived in Turkey for many years and moved to Florida in 2019. On paper they ran a faith-based charity with a high-minded mission: to “communicate Christian love in doctrine and service to the poor.”

But by the fall of 2020, the family of four — dad Evan; mom Mary Jane; daughter Joy, 36; and son Josh, 30 — were suspected of pulling off a multimillion-dollar fraud that targeted the government’s Covid relief program for small businesses and nonprofits.

The Edwardses received more than $8 million after Josh filed paperwork falsely claiming that their ministry, ASLAN International Ministry, had 486 employees and a monthly payroll of $2.7 million, according to a federal forfeiture complaint.

We do not need the black collar series from the BG website. The news of pastoral illegal activity always finds a way to be public. What we need is Christians implementing God’s ways to be front page news.

It shuts the critics up and provides a balance as people can see what Christians are to be doing instead of being fed only one side of the story.

#3. Taco Bell presents nationwide ‘Drag Brunch’ tour featuring men dressed as women

he popular fast food chain Taco Bell has been presenting so-called “drag queen” events at select cantina locations during the month of May, with additional events scheduled for June.

According to a news release from the company, the five-city “Drag Brunch” was the invention of Live Más Pride, Taco Bell’s 100+-member “LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group,” which seeks to support “LGBTQIA+ communities both within Taco Bell and the communities we serve and operate in.”

“We understand the importance of creating safe spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community and are thrilled to provide a unique experience that spotlights and celebrates the wonderful art form of drag and its influence in culture with their chosen families,” Sean Tresvant, Taco Bell’s global chief brand officer, said in a statement.

Each brunch is hosted by drag performer “Kay Sedia” (quesadilla) and features local men and women who lip sync to songs while dressed as the opposite sex. There is also a segment dedicated to the It Gets Better Project, a homosexual, bisexual and transgender advocacy group. The Taco Bell Foundation is teaming with the organization to provide a grant to “expand workforce readiness resources for LGBTQIA+ youth around the globe.”

“We are beyond excited to partner with Taco Bell and the Taco Bell Foundation to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community through the Drag Brunch experience and to collaborate on programming designed to engage LGBTQ+ youth around their career aspirations and future potential,” said Brian Wenke, the executive Director of the It Gets Better Project.

Since when did men dressing up like women become a good thing? Being a drag queen is not something to write home about and it is a violation of scripture where God said men are not to wear women’s clothing, etc., and vice versa.

These people are an embarrassment to mankind. They are not even man enough to be who they were born as. keep them out of schools and libraries as they are not setting the right example for anyone.

#3. UK university blasted for allowing student to complete PhD documenting child porn experience

The University of Manchester has been criticized for allowing a student to complete a PhD documenting his sexual gratification from reading erotic comics involving children.

Karl Andersson wanted to research Japanese “shota” comics, which depict adolescent or prepubescent boys in a sexually suggestive manner.

He said he wanted to find out how people “experience sexual pleasure when reading shota,” and the now-published research documents his own experiences of masturbating to pictures of young boys.

Higher education is not as prestigious or grand as it once was. Getting a college degree at any level was an achievement to be proud of but today’s universities have lost their way. Just like public school boards have done.

Even our own alma mater has fallen from its lofty spiritual perch We can’t fight for God when our churches and colleges, etc., do not train or educate their students or congregations correctly.

#4. Cambridge Dictionary Bows to ‘Woke Activists,’ Changes Definition of ‘Woman’

Cambridge Dictionary has been accused of giving in to “woke activists” by changing its definition of “woman” to be inclusive of those who identify as transgender.

The updated definition for the word “woman” now states in its secondary characterization that the term describes “an adult who lives and identifies as female, though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth.”

Now you can’t even trust the dictionary to get words and meanings correct. The true definition of a woman is as follows:

WÖMAN, n. plu. women. [a compound of womb and man. It is the same word as L. fœmina; the Latins writing f for w. The plural as written, seems to be womb-men. But we pronounce it wimen, and so it ought to be written, for it is from the Saxon wifman, wife-man.]
1. The female of the human race, grown to adult years.
And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from the man, made he a woman. Gen. 2.
Women are soft, mild, pitiful, and flexible. Shak.
We see every day women perish with infamy, by having been too willing to set their beauty to show. Rambler.
I have observed among all nations that the women ornament themselves more than the men; that wherever found, they are the same kind, civil, obliging, humane, tender beings, inclined to be gay and cheerful, timorous and modest. {Webster, N. (2006). In Noah Webster’s first edition of An American dictionary of the English language. Foundation for American Christian Education.}

Even Wikipedia gets this definition correct:

A woman is an adult femalehuman.[1][2] Prior to adulthood, a female human is referred to as a girl (a female child or adolescent).[3] The plural women is sometimes used in certain phrases such as “women’s rights” to denote female humans regardless of age.

Typically, women inherit a pair of X chromosomes, one from each parent, and are capable of pregnancy and giving birth from puberty until menopause. More generally, sex differentiation of the female fetus is governed by the lack of a present, or functioning, SRY-gene on either one of the respective sex chromosomes.[4] Female anatomy is distinguished from male anatomy by the female reproductive system, which includes the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina, and vulva. A fully developed woman generally has a wider pelvis, broader hips, and larger breasts than an adult man. Women have significantly less facial and other body hair, have a higher body fat composition, and are on average shorter and less muscular than men.

As Manny Pacquaio once said- “even animals know the difference between a male and a female.” We are better and smarter than animals and we should know better. Stop enabling those who disagree with these definitions. Get them mental health help.

#5. Nominees: The Worst Christian of 2022

(Pulpit and Pen) Who out there, among the professing, has had the most deleterious effect on the health of the body of Christ in the year 2022? Using a number of criteria Pulpit & Pen has identified a list of nominees from a pool of eligible individuals (obvious charlatans and the theologically heterodox* were not included for consideration).  In 2021, Beth Moore claimed the title of Pulpit & Pen’s “Worst Christian” of the year, beating out Ed Litton, Russell Moore, James Merritt, and Dhati Lewis.  This year, Moore is not among the nominees, instead, there are a few new faces.

This is not how to restore wayward Christians to Jesus.
