Where Atheists Are Wrong

Atheists like to try and ‘correct’ believers. about themselves and their lack of beliefs. They also like to point out the errors of believers, even when those exposures are far from the mark.

Taking our quotes from one of the sources we use frequently, we will point out some of the errors atheists make in their assessment of Christians. You will find the source material at this link and this one.

#1. Evangelicals embarrass themselves and their religion when they attempt to “prove” that the Bible is truth. One either accepts the claims of the Bible as truth or they don’t. It has always been about faith.

This is probably the most important point that we need to deal with in this article. The author is under the mistaken impression that we believers doubt the word of God and that we need physical evidence to overcome that doubt.

He is wrong. the author forgets that almost all atheists demand physical evidence before they will listen to what a believer has to say. That evidence has to be supported by secular scientific methods or they just turn a blind ear.

One reason we believers seek to ‘prove’ the Bible true is to get as much physical evidence as possible to show the unbeliever God’s word is actually true. it is not for us, in general, as we do not need any evidence to believe God.

We know the bible is true just because God said it was. Faith is taking God at his word. Another reason we pursue the concept of ‘proving the Bible true’ is to keep unbelieving archaeologists, anthropologists, and other researchers honest.

Far too often these unbelieving researchers have declared the Bible false because they could not find any physical evidence to support the biblical account. It took 1800 years to get the physical evidence that the Hittites existed.

Do we need the evidence? Not in a general application, no. But the unbeliever who refuses to believe God’s word certainly did and does. Then, it is because of these ‘experts’ that declare the bible wrong, that we need physical evidence to prove the Bible true.

Their words have helped many believers lose their faith and walk away from Jesus. Getting physical evidence to ‘prove’ the Bible true helps those wavering Christians and keeps their faith strong.

The evidence shows the wavering unbeliever that they have not made the wrong decision to follow Christ. When unbelievers tell believers that they do not need to look for physical evidence to prove the Bible true, they are telling the believer that they want them to be weak and incapable of defending their faith.

They want the unbeliever to be wavering so that evil can destroy the weak believers. We believers cannot allow that to happen which is why we have written our books found at http://www.theoarch.wordpress.com.

Building the faith of the believer is very imp[ortant to Christ and it is called ‘feeding his sheep’. We cannot do that if we do not have as many facts as possible.

#2. Many Evangelicals wrongly think that atheism is a moral and ethical system of thought. It’s not. Atheism is, and will always remain, the disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of God or gods. That’s it.

With that denial comes the confusion, many Christians have about atheists. The author of that piece is wrong because atheism is a moral and ethical system. It is a system created by the atheist and it is flexible.

While atheism does reject the existences of God and gods, they make hypocrites of themselves if they incorporate any morality or ethical position found in the Bible.

As we stated, atheists have a moral and ethical system and it is of their own creation. they may take some of their morals from Buddha, Allah, or even Jesus but those ethical principles are not written in stone and can be changed at any time that benefits the atheist.

In other words, since the atheist has created their own moral and ethical code, they can change it at will and even feel good about denying it exists when they have to.  They do not have any supreme being to answer to, at least in their minds, so they can lie about their moral system for any reason.

Atheism has no objective or superior moral code to live by. Their code is made up by them so they can be as selfless as they want or as greedy and selfish as they want.

That author has proven that point by stating that he is a nice guy except to specific individuals. In other words, when he says that atheism does not have a moral or ethical system he is laying the foundation to justify his good treatment of some people and his bad treatment of others.

In other words, he will choose how he will treat others instead of adhering to a moral code that has him treating everyone in the same nice way. His quoted words are his excuse.

That is one reason atheism is wrong and cannot be upheld as any type of lifestyle for anyone to pursue. The atheist has to steal from the very religions he or she disagrees with in order to learn how to function in this world.

#3. If I tell someone I am an atheist, that tells them nothing about my morals or ethics.

The atheist is wrong here as well. telling someone that you are an atheist tells them exactly everything about their morals and ethics. They have none and what few morals and ethics they follow is chosen by them and can be replaced by them at a moment’s notice.

The atheist is delusional if they think their label does not expose their morals or ethics. They are also delusional if they think that atheism has any sort of moral or ethical code. It doesn’t because atheism doesn’t follow any moral or ethical thought, nor has any within its humanistic structure.

Because there is no supreme being to answer to or obey, who has created an objective moral and ethical code, the atheist is free to create their own humanism code and add or subtract whatever behavior they feel like following.

The atheist is not bound to any point of the humanism code of behavior.

#4. The fact that I think evolution best explains the natural world says nothing about my morality or ethics either.

The author is wrong here as well. his belief in evolution tells everyone that his concept of morality and ethics is sourced in humans who may have gotten it from the animal world.

His moral and ethical codes are subjective rather than absolute and objective. They will also change according to the culture he resides, as well as any tragic event that gets him upset.

The atheist has no solid foundation to base his moral and ethical standards upon. They will change, just give it time. So we know by that statement exactly where his morals and ethics come from and it is not sourced in the truth.

We won’t go through the humanist ideology he posted at that second link above. that needs to be saved for another time. But needless to say, his publishing of that code contradicts his words.

Atheism does have a moral and ethical system. They just borrow it from someone else. Which makes them hypocrites as morals and ethics only come from one source– the Biblical God.

So while they reject God, they will use God’s words to make themselves look better than the Christians they try to ‘correct’ and ‘expose’. Their ‘moral and ethical’ behavior comes with an ulterior motive and not an honest one.

The personal examples he provides only prove that point true. he wants to look better than the Christian he despises. he forgets that Christians are not perfect and will make mistakes.

The only difference is he will forgive himself for his bad behavior but he won’t forgive the Christian or take the time to understand why the bad behavior took place.

Not every Christian has let  Jesus increase yet nor have they become mature Christians who have conquered all their problems. Yet the atheist will ignore those points and point a finger at the believer and say we are no good.

They will use that ignorance to justify their decision to reject Jesus and God. The atheist does not have a better system than the believer, they just want to be gods of their own lives and not servants of the God who created selflessness, morals, and ethics.

At least the Christian is brave enough to say that they cannot do it on their own and need Christ’s help and his moral and ethical system to live right. With both God and Jesus, we get forgiveness and grace, something the atheist won’t give anyone.

  1. Why is it then that Christians don’t always abide by the moral code that God has supplied? It isn’t unreasonable for atheists and others to call out Christians who claim they have godly morality but don’t live by it. Jesus himself warns this will happen: judge not that ye be not judged. I’m afraid I find no humility in what you write – only judgement.

    1. There are many reasons. Just because a person becomes a Christian does not mean that free choice is suspended nor does it mean that evil does not tempt them or use other tricks to get Christians to sin. Sure it is unreasonable as atheists do not understand the full circumstances, they operate under a different moral code and they do not grasp the difference between punishment, discipline, and sin.

Then atheists are not without sin, are deceived, and may misread the situation. They are not in a position to point out the sins of Christians as they are worse sinners. Their lives do not live by an objective moral code and use subjectivity to condemn those they disagree with.

That last line is proof of what I just said. I do not judge or write in that manner. But your perspective will say otherwise.
