And no, we are not talking about the cops shooting blacks, or cops being shot. That is a more serious matter best left for another day. What we are going to talk about here is a comment made by Mr. Ham about is future plans:
Ham also plans to build a replica of the Tower of Babel in the next few years to speak against prejudice and racism, as well as an ancient walled city like those mentioned in the Bible.(http://christiannews.net/2016/07/08/thousands-flock-to-grand-opening-of-answers-in-genesis-ark-encounter)
We already have thousands of church sanctuaries, thousands of religious corporate offices, along with thousands of religious support buildings, they have done nothing to stop ‘racism’ and prejudice so what will a replica of the Tower of Babel accomplish? This is getting insane. We do not need these buildings to do our job. True believers need to get out there with the right definitions of words like ‘discrimination’, ‘racism’, ‘race’, ‘prejudice’ and many other terms that are tossed about incorrectly by so many who opt for their own subjective ideas instead of the truth.
Then what will building an ancient walled city accomplish? Sure it will be a great attraction to support the other buildings but we already have ancient walled cities, why do we need a replica? One is beginning to think that Mr. Ham has ‘lost it’ and is straying away from the true Christian duty as he wastes more and more money on buildings that will not make it to heaven or even the new heaven and earth.
Doesn’t Mr. Ham realize that his buildings will be considered corrupt and not worthy of being taken into heaven? The only reason we have not said any worse about these AIG ventures is that they are providing employment to some people but then does that little contribution justify the expenditure when those same people could be employed in a variety of different ways?
Mr. Ham says:
A major reason for rebuilding the ark today is to proclaim the message of salvation
The reason does not justify the project because we do not need this building to proclaim the message of salvation. Buildings cannot experience Christ and then tell others how Jesus worked in their lives and made it better. Unbelievers need to see Christ’s redemptive work evidenced in the lives of people, buildings cannot bring that message
Prejudice and racism needs to be relieved by the correct biblical actions of PEOPLE. Buildings are not prejudice, they are not a part of any race or nationality, they cannot contribute one constructive comment to the problems HUMANS face each day. Clearly Mr. Ham is misguided in his outreach plans, not his faith but his implementation of the great commission (there is a difference) and it needs to be corrected.
Copying the world is not what God said for us to do. We need to be wiser, more intuitive, more understanding, more knowledgeable than the secular world and we need to be tuned in to God’s direction as God knows the hearts of people not market surveys. We also have to be consistent with our message. We preach that the world is going to be destroyed again thus we should not be spending large sums of money on objects that will not make it through that destruction, no matter how great the cause may be.
Being consistent goes a longs ways in making a good impact for Christ. So let’s stop with the modern religious insanity and get back to the basics of the Bible and follow God’s leading not our own.
