Officials at Wheaton College have announced that their parting agreement with an associate political science director who will be leaving the college following controversy over her assertion that Christians and Muslims worship the same God will include an annual visit from a Muslim or Jewish scholar.
“Each year we will invite a scholar from the Jewish or Muslim community for respectful dialogue about interfaith relations,” Wheaton President Philip Ryken announced at a press conference on Wednesday. “And today, I announce that in the name of Dr. Hawkins we are establishing an endowed scholarship for interns to pursue a summer program or project in peace and conflict studies.”
How about simply teaching the truth so that our students do not grow up into misguided and deceived people like Ms. Hawkins? Christians should NOT be worrying about ‘peace’ because there will not be the peace that they are thinking of until Jesus comes. Heaven is God’s kingdom and Christians need to start reading, learning and understanding the Bible correctly and stop with al of these appeasement games.
Grammy Award-winning gospel artist Kirk Franklin recently joined blasphemous rapper Kanye West in the studio as he is set to appear on the rapper’s seventh release, which is self-described as a “gospel album with a whole lot of cursing.”
A photo surfaced online days ago showing Franklin with the profanity-laden West, alongside other secular artists such as Kid Cudi, Puff Daddy, 2 Chainz and French Montana. West, who also goes by the name Yeezus, a spin off of Jesus, confirmed Franklin’s contribution to the project this past week…
Franklin is known for his songs “Now Behold the Lamb,” “Stomp” and “I Smile,” and his most recently released album “Losing My Religion.” Franklin said of his new release that he believes the grace of God should be preached over the fear of God.
The preaching of the grace of God does not mean one disobeys God in accepting or supporting sin or sinners. The grace of God comes when people repent of their sins, and is not a support for sin device.
A British boy believed to be aged four and nicknamed “junior jihadi” has been filmed blowing up three prisoners in the latest grisly execution video released by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil).
In exploitative footage that is shocking even by Isil’s standards, Isa Dare, whose mother Grace “Khadija” Dare is a convert to Islam who has sworn allegiance to the jihadist group, is seen pressing a button on what appears to be a remote control device seconds before a car containing four alleged “spies” goes up in a ball of flames.
If you cannot understand why God killed the pre-flood world or why he had the Israelites destroy the people of Canaan, well here is your modern example to help you understand. The Bible tells us:
Ge 6:5 The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.
Now maybe you will understand why God included children and women in those executions. Then you need to remember that it is God who defines what wickedness is not man.
#4. I Doubt His Christianity— http://www.patheos.com/blogs/exploringourmatrix/2016/02/anti-evolutionism-as-stumbling-block.html
This is precisely what Christians who claim that evolution is incompatible with belief in Christ are doing today. By claiming that faith and falsehood are inextricably linked, we do nothing but harm to the Church, and will face the judgment of those who “cause one of these little ones to stumble.”
The only people who bring harm to Christianity are those who claim to be Christian yet side with evil. By standing with God and saying Genesis 1 is correct, we are not linking Christianity with falsehood. That is done by those people who claim to be Christian yet link to false ideas like evolution. The last line is so distorted and badly applied that it boggles the mind.
David Hayward shared the above cartoon, which makes the point that people with the same sacred texts apply them in very different ways. And so it can be argued that what people do with a sacred text is much more interest and telling than what the text itself says. A text which teaches love will not prevent people from carrying out atrocities, and a text which depicts people committing genocide will not prevent people from acting kindly towards others.
We are to follow the Holy Spirit to the truth. So we do not have different ideas about what scripture says.
#6. Make Up Your Own Mind — http://americanvision.org/12995/cruz-bill-will-bring-homeschoolers-under-federal-regulation/
Parents who have removed their children from the Moloch schools could be facing the beast once again if this bill backed by Ted Cruz passes. Introduced by Mike Lee (R-UT) and co-sponsored by Cruz, S.306 would define a “home school” as a “private school” in order to qualify homeschool families to use 529 plans—investment accounts that remain tax-free as long as the funds are used for qualified educational purposes.
At least two articles have taken hard swipes at this measure, and I share some of their concerns, though I think they have misread part of the bill also. They claim that the bill would allow homeschool families to receive “Title 1” funding which is federal grants and aid for education for the poor. I don’t think it does that, but what it does do is concerning enough to me.
What’s so sinister about a tax-free education account? Simple: it’s a federal program that comes with federal government strings attached. Granted, the strings may not seem that onerous right now, but the shadows of tyranny are already looming. Currently, in order to use the funds tax-free, you must send your child to a school that is accredited and also able to receive federal student aid. If you use the funds outside of such parameters, you not only have to pay the taxes but penalties on top of them.
I do not know much about this bill or its implications but pass it on to you to read and decide.
