My Thoughts On…

04 May

the Supreme Court’s upcoming same-sex decision. I am only using the following link as referral to the topic of the decision and not the content of the article at all. The past few days I have been thinking about this decision and I believe I have been led by God to the following conclusion:

If the Supreme Court decides in favor of the homosexual community and grants legality to same-sex marriage then it is telling everyone, Americans and the world, that rules do not matter. They are saying that if a minute group of people yell loud enough then the rules can be re-written.

I have long believed that the American constitution cannot be used to change the rules of the institution of marriage for the constitution does not govern that institution. Marriage transcends American laws and culture as it is practiced worldwide since the beginning of time. The American founding fathers did not address this issue probably because they were not arrogant enough to assume that they had the right to alter that institution but that is merely my opinion.

To decide in favor of the homosexual community would be a sad day for right and wrong, morality as the favorable decision is supporting disobedience to the rules of life. Such a decision says that it is okay to disobey and that one does not have to give up their error in order to be welcomed into what is natural, normal and correct. In other words, they are saying that those doing wrong no longer need to repent of their error but if they are patient enough, they will be considered moral, right and normal.

If the Supreme Court decides in favor of same-sex marriage then they are saying that authority means nothing and that anarchy is good. I find that the 14th amendment is being applied hypocritically in order to bring this decision to a favorable conclusion for the homosexual community. I feel that America is heading where Nineveh once stood:

Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know the difference between their right and left hand, as well as many animals?” Jonah 4:11 NASB

The people of today do not want to know what is truly right and wrong for they just want to do as they please and not be concerned about being in error and needing to change. They want a worry free life not a sin free existence.

I will not be surprised if the Supreme Court rule sin favor of the homosexual community because the Supreme Court is not filled with wise men who walk with God instead its chairs are occupied by those who leave God out of such controversial and life altering decisions. Just when he is needed most, the door is shut locking God out of the discussion.

People need to know that there is an unchanging standard of right and wrong, morality and that those rules will not be changed because a small group of spoiled, selfish people refuse to obey them.

I hope people are praying for the Supreme Court Justices and that God will lead them to the right, wise decision and that those 9 people will listen to God for a change. Good strong leadership knows not to feed the selfish, the spoiled, the disobedient and it knows it needs to stand tall to deny the wishes of those who refuse to follow the rules.Sadly, I do not think we have such leadership in American politics, the White House or the judicial branch of governments.
