The Evolutionist

The quotes will be coming from the book, Big History’ by David Christian and if you heard about it, that is the same name as the new educational program sponsored by Bill Gates. It is a solid evolutionist book with no pretense of being objective or even honest, though I am sure the author is honest about the views he expresses in his work.

#1. Like merchants in a huge desert caravan, we need to know where we are going, where we have come from and in whose company we are traveling. Modern science tells us that the caravan is vast and varied, and our fellow travelers include numerous exotic creatures, from quarks to galaxies. (pg. 1)

Creative but not even close to the truth.  The problems highlighted in the quote is that we already know the answers to those issues but too many people have decided to opt for secular science’s ideas over God’s thus we are inundated with book after book asking the same questions over and over. Christians have provided the answer time and again pointing people to the truth found in Genesis 1 but the unbeliever decides to stick with the wild ideas of secular science because those are ‘testable’, ‘changeable’ and human.

Modern science would be wrong of course, as the only travelers who have a real choice in this journey are humans, everything else demonstrates the glory and power of God, his depth of thought, his creative abilities and forethought, among other things.

#2. A modern creation myth will not and cannot hope to be neutral…Creation stories, too, arise, from a relationship between particular human communities and the universe as these communities imagine it…A creation myth always belongs to someone and the story recounted in this book is the creation myth of modern human beings, educated in the scientific traditions of the modern world (pg. 6)

No none are neutral but one is the absolute truth-Genesis 1 and without that one truthful record no other creation story would exist.  It is not based upon the imagination of Moses or other biblical authors but a record of what truly happened. But those words now tells us that evolution is imagined by the secular scientific community and not based in reality or truth.

But why write a new myth if you are going to call it untrue from the get go? Why waste everybody’s time with useless information and waste paper to print it out? That last line just tells us that evolutionists do not care about anything but making money off the gullibility of people. They do not even care if they get it right as long as they can sell books, have universities pay them large salaries and so on.

#3. So a central theme of big history is how the rules of change vary at different scales, despite some fundamental similarities in the nature of all change. (pg. 7)

The real news is that the ‘rules of change’ do not vary nor do they even change in the slightest degree. What God instilled in the beginning remains the same today. Science has not been able to disprove that fact yet, no matter how many experiments they try to have tried to find an alternative to God’s rules they have always failed.

#4. Thinking of a big history narrative as a modern creation myth is a good way of helping students to find the epistemological point of balance between these extremes. (pg. 11)

By lying to them, we are helping them? That is dumb and erroneous and simply creates a deep mistrust between the students and any adult involved in such false storytelling.

#5. How did everything begin?…At the very beginning, all explanations face the same problem: how can something come out of nothing? (pg. 17)

We know how everything began and those who ask this question are those who either have never heard the truth before or have heard it but rejected what they were told. This question only has validity with those who have denied the truth and have decided to keep searching for alternatives. They will find that no alternative answer will satisfy them because no alternative to Genesis is the truth and a lie does not satisfy.

#6. But where did the Maker come from?…How was God created? (pg. 18)

To answer these questions we must ask another one in return– why does God have to be created or have an origination point?  I have never received or seen a very good answer to that question so I cannot elaborate too much on the topic but for some reason, unbelievers think everything must come from somewhere and that God is as finite as humans are.

God has never intimated that he was finite or even created. He has always been and now that concept may be hard for some people to grasp but that is the truth and that is the answer we give in response to those quoted questions.

#7. One of the trickiest problems concern time. Was there a time when there was no time? (pg. 19)

The simple answer of course is ‘yes’.  Time is a creation of God and he created it right after creating the heavens and the earth:

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day. (Gen. 1 NASB)

this is the description of human time being brought into existence. Outside of this universe there is no concept of time, so to more fully answer that question, there still is a time when there is no time. We see this when we read Peter’s words:

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. (2 Peter 3:8)

God governs human time, he is not subject to it and he lives in a realm where there is no such thing as time.

#8. But what if the universe has a different shape? (pg. 20)

What ifs do not matter. The universe is the shape that it is and that is it. There are no alternatives. Secular scientists theorize about the shape of the universe because it is just too vast to measure or see its true shape. The shape of the universe has little to nothing to do with our existence. it is the shape that God made it to contain the contents God wanted within its boundaries and that is all we can say about the shape of the universe. It has no real influence upon our lives or the lives of the different species.

#9. This meant trying to explain the world as if there was no deity. Modern science, unlike most other traditions of knowledge, tries to explain the universe as if it were inanimate, as if things happened without intention or purpose (pg. 21)

This would be, of course, the wrong approach and leads so many away from the truth instead of towards it. Then we must remember that we do not have to ‘explain the universe’ because that explanation has already been given in the Bible. But if we do try to explain it, we can only do so with the inclusion of God for any other idea would not make sense and leave too many questions unanswered.

How else can we explain the order and sophistication of the universe if we do not include the very one who actually put it all together?  We would end up with a ‘Big Bang’ mentality where everything appears out of nothing and miraculously forms into what we have today. But how could we explain the miraculous when the miraculous did not and would not exist in such a mentality? Nothing would make sense which is why we have hundreds of thousands of secular scientists fighting with each other over the details of their alternative origins. Without God, any answer would be the correct one for the real answer has been removed from the equation.

#10. many of the most interesting events occurred within a fraction of a second. (pg. 23)

How can they know this? How could they record and measure this?  And just plain ‘how?’  The secular scientist cannot even explain where the heat came from to orchestrate this catastrophe and influence the formation of the contents of the universe. The cannot even explain where electrons came from or how they came into existence for on page 25 the author says– ‘Some seconds after the big bang, electrons appeared.’

Must have been by magic. Everything they attribute to the beginning of the universe seems to have come into being via magic and not scientific means.

#11. Why do modern astronomers accept what seems, at first sight, such a bizarre creation story? Why should we take this story seriously? The short answer is that for all its oddity, the modern story of creation is based on a colossal amount of hard evidence. (pg. 28)

I have mentioned the following before– secular scientists will accept any theory, no matter how absurd, as long as it does not contain God in the mix. It doesn’t matter how ‘bizarre’ the theory, they can always manufacture ‘hard evidence’ to give such ideas credence. They just do not want God to be there at all. But that is their main problem because there is no ‘hard evidence’ for any of their alternative theories. There is no objective and supreme ruling body defining what evidence is, how to look for it or how, when once found, it applies to our origins.

The supposed ‘hard evidence’ presented by evolutionists is just made up and declared to be evidence even though there is no way they can verify that declaration. Case in point, the supposed cosmic background radiation is declared to be evidence for the big bang theory but there is nothing authoritative  that tells scientists this is what they need to look for in order to find the true evidence for the true origins. In other words, they find this cosmic background radiation then ASSUME it came from the big bang thus they make it evidence when it is not.

Nothing says that cosmic background radiation is associated with the universe’s origin. Why it exists we do not know but it is not evidence for an alternative idea.

#12. This story, as strange as it may seem, is based on a colossal amount of scientific research. (pg. 37)

But in reality it is not as the previous point shows. This modern scientific creation myth is based upon the assumptions, the conjectures, the speculations of humans who have rejected the truth. Their research is not following honest guidelines directing them to real evidence or to what truly happened in the beginning. I have said this many times before but here it is again– secular scientists are going down the wrong paths, looking in the wrong places for the wrong information.

Their alternative is not built upon scientific research but a sinful desire to find an alternative to the truth found in Genesis 1.
