A New Creature??

13 Jan

I am officially tired of hearing certain people describe themselves as ‘homosexual Christians’ because that identification is an impossibility.  I guess the person that has pushed me too far on this issue is Vicki Beeching

A key part of Vicky’s story took place on August 14th, 2014. In an interview that featured on the front page of two major UK newspapers (The Independent and The i) Vicky came out as gay. Coming from such a conservative Christian background and having ‘star status’ in the Bible belt gospel music industry meant her announcement created international shock-waves. For Vicky, taking this step was to face her greatest fear and do what she’d never thought possible.

Since coming out, her impact has only increased. She has been named “arguably the most influential Christian in her generation” by the Guardian newspaper. She was listed as the 3rd most influential LGBT person in the UK in the highly respected, annual ‘Rainbow List’ published by the Independent newspaper.

But it isn’t her labeling herself as a homosexual Christian that really bothers me, it is the few words found at the end of her ‘coming out’ page that bothers me the most

Her vision is to help change the Church from the inside out until it affirms and blesses LGBT sexuality and equal marriage.

It is an impossible quest she has undertaken as the Church cannot disagree with God and his will. It cannot disobey God’s commands. Ms. Beeching is not an authority over God, doesn’t matter how famous she is, her words and desires do not trump God nor change what God has declared to be sin.  She is a human being trying to force her subjective views on to ta church that is required to reject sin and all those who wish to bring sin into the church.

Her education and expertise also do not replace God’s desires for his church nor do they get to alter what God has said is an abomination to him. The homosexual does not have the position nor permission to alter what God hates.

I have mentioned 2 Cor. 5:17 before

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.(NASB)

and it is a verse that stops any argument for homosexuality being a part of the church or in finding favor with God. But there is another verse that also stops the same-sex argument. It is an obscure verse and one not yet seen in this issue (at least I haven’t seen it used in all the articles I have read).

For man [a]does not originate from woman, but woman from man; for indeed man was not created for the woman’s sake, but woman for the man’s sake.(1 Cor. 11:8-9 NASB)

Notice the bold words. They lay out the purpose of the existence for women quite plainly and clearly. Also notice that the Bible does not say ‘women were made for other women’s sake.’ Heterosexuality is the sexual preference God intended and wanted for his creation. Everything else is a perversion of that intention and desire, meaning that nothing of God is found in any form of homosexuality. Homosexuality’s source is in evil and those who experience same-sex attractions are being deceived and tempted to sin against God.

There is another verse that hasn’t been used in this issue and should be used as not only a warning to homosexuals and their desires to import sin into the church but also to guide those who are experiencing same-sex attractions

:Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (1 peter 5:8 NASB)

The church has to take the devil and his evil minions seriously, so do all the members of the homosexual community who think they are of Christ. Evil exists in the world and its sole purpose has been to destroy God’s creation. Sadly, too many people prefer evil’s destruction to God’s salvation. There is yet still another verse that addresses this issue

This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; (1 John 5 NASB)

This is why the supposed homosexual christian is trying so hard to change what scripture says and their standing with God. They do not want to repent of their sins and sinful practices yet desire fellowship with God. But their efforts may fool some humans but they do not fool God who does not change his commands or feelings because some small groups of homosexuals demand to be included in his kingdom while not following his rules to enter it.

The status of homosexuality has not changed in God’s eyes, it is still an abomination to him, still sin and still a perversion of his intended union act between his creation. No matter how hard Ms. Beeching tries, She will not succeed in changing the Church for the true church will always reject hers and others attempts to import sin and call evil good.

God has already stated what is right and what is wrong and that standard does not change even if Ms. Beeching is a famous singer or a self-proclaimed theologian.

I take the Bible very seriously – hence returning from the States to the UK to do a PhD in theology at Durham University. My support of same-sex marriage comes from respecting the Bible so much, rather than so little.

These words are found at the following link

and we must ask, how seriously does she take the Bible? Is she so serious that she will be honest and accept it as written or will she work day and night to find some loophole so she and others can get their selfish way? Then we must ask, how much does she respect the Bible? Does she respect it so much that she will accept its teachings or will she work day and night trying to find a way to alter what it really  says so she and others get to hear what they want to hear?

I’m saddened that many conservative and evangelical Christians have been so quick to write me off, emailing that “this means goodbye – deleting you from my social networks”.

These words are from the same link immediately above. She doesn’t get it. She has publicly stated that she will side with sin over God, the church has no choice but to reject her until she truly repents and gets back on the right side.
