Traitors

The following quote is in response to the discussion over at another website look for the picture of Mr. T

“The point is when one professes to follow God and the Bible they have claimed to believe in both. For them to say that secular culture and human thought are greater than both or that God and the Bible are fallible is heresy and very wrong.

It also tells everyone that they do not believe the very God they claim to follow. Who wants to respect or listen to such traitors?”

One has to wonder if those who claim to follow Christ but preach alternatives can be classified as traitors. They say that they believe God yet their writings and lectures, etc. undermine the cause of Christ and reduce God to a sinful fallible being while demoting the Bible to the level of myths.

Technically, they are traitors as they work against the very God they say they believe in but how can one believe in God then turn around and claim that He is nothing more than human and wrong?

Maybe ‘traitor’ is too harsh a word but so are ‘heretic’ and ‘heresy’ which these people become and promote. Anyways, that is an idea that can be discussed in academic circles but any one who claims that the Bible is in error and that God sins certainly is not working for Christ.

Roger Pearse has a good article on this whole issue with Dr. Rollston’s betrayal of ECS and Christ. You can read it here:

http://www.roger-pearse.com/weblog/2012/10/10/academic-integrity-or-the-lack-of-it-a-thought-about-the-rollston-saga/

I  think it summarizes the whole issue quite well and brings to the discussion good points that the unbelieving scholars ignore in their haste to force Christian institutions to follow their ways and rules.
